Neuroscience Graduate Program - Student Profile

Naveen Rao

Student Profile

I was born in northern England and moved to a small town in Eastern Kentucky when I was 3. I left there to attend Duke University where I majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. After graduation, I moved to Silicon Valley to pursue a career as a Computer Engineer and Systems Architect. During my 10 years in industry, I worked at Sun Microsystems and a number of now-defunct startup companies, where I designed some interesting products. Last year, I decided to leave industry and study the technical and computational side of Neuroscience. I will be in the Donoghue lab working on Brain-Computer Interfaces and neurotechnology.
